The city of Rajkot (Gujarat) witnessed a horrific situation on
Sunday (October 20, 2013) after the members of Kshatriya community
ransacked a mall, as a protest against Sanjay Leela Bhansali's
Leela. Reportedly, the community demanded the posters of
the film be removed.
As per the reports by a leading daily, the Kshatriya community
alleged that the film Ram Leela portrays the Rajputs in a
bad light. Hence, they took out a protest rally in the city,
burning the effigies of Bhansali at Jilla Panchayat chowk and then
heading towards Kalavad Road.
Reportedly, after reaching the mall, they saw the film posters
and demanded that they be removed immediately. Following this, the
protestors turned violent and ransacked the furniture, garden and
broke glasses at the mall. Reportedly, the community members
demanded an appology from Sanjay Leela Bhansali and also expects
him to make certain changes in the film.
