Deepika Padukone-Ranveer Singh's Ram Leela Is Now Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram Leela

Just one day remaining for the release of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Ram Leela, and the film has to change it's name! Yes, you heard it right. Ram Leela is now Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela.

Like all big budget films, Ram Leela too has had its share of legal ups and downs. The film has been receiving a lot of flak right from the start because of its controversial title. And now, a Delhi court stopped director Sanjay Leela Bhansali from releasing the film stating that the movie hurts the religious sentiments of Hindus as it contains sex, violence and vulgarity.

Moreover, according to the suit filed by six petitioners, which includes Prabhu Samaj Dharmik 'Ram-Leela' Committee, the word 'Ram-Leela' has to do with Lord Rama and since the film is not a mytholigical movie, the audience will be misled.

The makers hence decided to change the title of this much hyped Ranveer Singh-Deepika Padukone starrer to Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram Leela. This is unlikely to effect the movie since the word 'Ram Leela' is still there in the title. The films name was earlier changed from Ramleela to Ram Leela.

Responding to the entire hullabaloo, Sanjay Leela Bhansali said , "It appears that some misinformation is being carried out regarding the said film (Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela) which we would like to clarify and state that the said film is inspired and based on William Shakespeare's work Romeo and Juliet."

Bhansali made it very clear that Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela has nothing to do with Lord Rama or Rasleela associated with Lord Krishna. Bhansali added, "Ram, the character in the said film does not depict or resemble Lord Rama in any manner."

Ram leela is all set to release tomorrow, November 15th and also features an item number by Priyanka Chopra.
