Ram Leela In Trouble Again: PIL Filed Against Its Release

By Sahaja

Earlier it was an FIR that was filed against the upcoming movie Ram Leela. Now it is a public interest litigation (PIL) that has been filed against the movie on Monday. The PIL demands a ban on the release of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Ram Leela.

The PIL says that Ram Leela starring Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh provokes enmity between two communities, hurts religious sentiments of Hindus, and shows women in a disrespectful manner. The bench of High Court will have a hearing on this issue in this week.

The petitioner has come to the conclusions after watching the trailer of Ram Leela. According to him, the trailers of the film have made it evident that the film is a love story between a Rabari boy and a Darbar-Rajput girl.

The PIL was submitted by a lawyer named Siddhrajsinh Chudasama. The PIL has added six entities as respondents to the petition - Union Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Information department of the Gujarat government, Central Board of Film Certification, Film Censor Board, Bhansali, and producer Kishore Lulla.

The petitioner is against Ram Leela's release because he thinks it is not only disrespectful to women of the Darbar community but also to the entire community. This is because the film portrays a Darbar girl using foul language. He even thinks that Ram Leela's dialogues may provoke enmity between the two communities.
