Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan's bong connection is known to all. And now, the actor wants to learn bengali from Jaya Bachchan. Reportedly, Shahrukh, who was recently present at the inauguration of the 19th Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF), said that he wishes to be a true bengali, hence will learn the language from Mrs Bachchan, who is also a bong.
Addressing the media at the event, Shahrukh Khan promised to learn bengali. "I promise you next time I am here I will speak in Bengali so Jaya aunty feels I am truly, truly from Kolkata then," SRK said. "I will come to you and learn from you. So next time when you stand on stage I will be a true Bengali and welcome everyone," he added.
Shahrukh Khan is connected to West Bengal in many ways. The superstar is not only the owner of the Kolkata Knight Riders Team, but also is the brand ambassador of the state. Shahrukh's love for Bengal goes beyond his IPL cricket team, after he inaugurated the first private film city in the state - the Prayag Film City in Chandrakona in Midnapore district, last year.
In fact, the Badshaah Khan had also expressed his love for bengali food, especially the delicious fish fry prepared by the bongs. It was said that he had agreed to appear in an ad film for West Bengal and he did not charge anything for the act except a fish fry!
