The
3D
version
of
the
1975
Bollywood
classic
Sholay,
which
was
slated
to
release
on
megastar
Amitabh
Bachchan's
71st
birthday
on
October
11,
is
now
likely
to
release
in
January
2014.
The
makers
wanted
a
four-week
window
for
the
film.
"We
have
requested
cinemas
to
give
us
a
four-week
window.
So,
we
are
currently
in
talks
with
cinemas
for
a
date
in
January," Jayantilal
Gada,
who
is
the
presenter
of
the
film,
said
in
a
statement.
The
film
is
very
significant
for
the
makers
as
they
have
spent
three
years
on
this
new
3D
project.
"It's
an
old
film.
We
don't
want
to
rush
to
cinemas
for
a
one-week
window
because
this
is
not
like
a
Chennai
Express
or
any
new
film
which
gets
a
big
opening,"
Gada
added.
Sholay,
directed
by
Ramesh
Sippy,
is
a
landmark
film
in
Indian
cinema.
It
features
Dharmendra
as
Veeru
and
Amitabh
as
his
friend
Jai.
This
is
known
to
be
one
of
the
legendary
friendships
in
Hindi
cinema.
Hema
Malini,
who
played
the
effervescent
Basanti
in
the
film
that
cannot
be
forgotten
by
a
majority
of
the
nation.
Late
Amjad
Khan
played
the
iconic
villain
named
as
Gabbar
Singh.
This
name
was
so
famous
once
that
it
ha
not
faded
out
yet.
Be
it
old
or
the
youth,
everyone
is
familiar
with
Sholay.
This
3D
version's
release
will
be
a
chance
for
everyone
to
relive
their
past.
We
know
that
many
of
you
have
not
yet
watched
this
movie,
so
just
hold
on
a
little
longer
as
you
can
see
it
in
3D
in
January
2014.
