Finally,
the
speculated
release
clash
between
Aamir
Khan
starring
PK
and
Ranbir
Kapoor's
Bombay
Velvet
has
been
avoided
to
some
extent
as
makers
of
PK
have
decided
to
hit
the
theatres
a
week
prior
to
Christmas.
There
has
been
a
lot
of
hullabaloo
regarding
the
release
dates
of
two
much
anticipated
movies
of
this
year,
one
Rajkumar
Hirani
directed
PK
and
the
other
Anurag
Kashyap's
Bombay
Velvet.
Earlier
it
came
down
as
a
shocker
for
Anurag
Kashyap
when
makers
of
PK
declared
to
release
the
film
on
Christmas
as
Anurag
made
his
plan
to
release
Bombay
Velvet
on
Christmas
in
advance.
Initially,
PK
was
supposed
to
get
released
on
June.
Since
then,
there
has
been
some
sort
of
cold
war
between
Anurag
Kashyap
and
Rajkumar
Hirani
regarding
the
release
dates.
However,
now
Anurag
can
finally
have
a
little
sigh
of
relief
as
makers
of
PK
announced
the
release
date
as
December
19,
while
Anurag
Kashyap
stuck
to
December
25.
"Vinod
Chopra
Films
and
Rajkumar
Hirani
Films,
in
association
with
Disney
India,
confirm
that
PK
shall
release
on
December
19,
2014," said
a
statement.
It
was
assumed
that
most
of
Aamir's
films
get
released
around
the
X-Mas
day
which
proved
to
be
super
hits
and
so,
the
director
wanted
to
keep
the
lucky
trend
going.
The
Aamir
Khan
starring
movie
PK
happens
to
be
a
satire
about
God
and
god-men
and
has
Anushka
Sharma,
Boman
Irani,
Sanjay
Dutt
among
others.
While,
Ranbir
Kapoor's
Bombay
Velvet
is
a
neo
noir
drama
which
will
reflect
on
the
journey
of
Mumbai
turning
into
a
metropolis
amidst
love,
greed
and
violence.
