The veteran actor after being honoured with the prestigious award dedicated the same to the current Gen Y actors as he feels it is the younger generation actors for whom Bollywood has become popular across the globe.
"I am very thankful to all of you for honouring me with this award but I think I am not the only person who should be honoured with this award. There are many of my friends in the entertainment world, especially the younger generation actors for whom the film industry is known all over the world. So I would like to dedicate the award to them all," said Big B.
Talking at the event, the 71-years-old superstar who has been in the industry since over four decades now, also recalls his early career. He said, "When I just started my career, I didn't have much releases but I started doing stage shows across the world and then I realised how much we are loved by them and how much we love them all."
The India's Global Icon of the Year award is a mark of respect to those who have made themselves known internationally.
Amitabh Bachchan's upcoming movie Bhoothnath Returns is scheduled to release on April 11 in which Big B will be seen fighting against the wrong as a ghost.
