The resounding box office success of dusky beauty Deepika Padukone's movies seems to skyrocketed her brand value within a brief period of a year. It is rumoured that six crores rupees was her remuneration for the latest ad film she has done with Farhan Akhtar.
Deepika recently enjoyed four back to back success that fetched everest-like numbers in box office. Chennai Express, Ram Leela, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Race 2 were those super successes that made Dippy reach where she is, today.
Dippy, already, is the brand face of multiple products but the latest one was a mammotth kind. It is said that her ad film role for a leading cola brand has got her the highest pay check ever in her career. The ad film is directed by self proclaimed messiah of Indian new wave films, Anurag Kashyap, and also features Farhan Akhtar. Dippy is going to be the face of the brand for a whole year. The leading cola brand expects to enhance their fading product image through Bollywood's dream girl's endorsement.
When it comes to choosing Bollywood stars for endorsing their product, the company was very selective from the beginning. A source close to the company tells, "The brand has been very selective in choosing its ambassadors. Among Bollywood heroines, they had Aishwarya Rai Bachchan around eight years ago. At the time, she had a successful run in her acting career. After a long gap, they have now signed Deepika."
Recently, Amitabh Bachchan said that he stopped endorsing the cola brand because he was stumped when an IIM student asked him, "Sir, Why do you endorse a product which my teacher term as poison." But the cola team had a different version of the story. They went on record saying, " No, Big B's term was over by this year and we didn't think of extending the contract with him."
Anyway , it looks like Dippy has a great year ahead!
