away

2011,

his

was
awarded
the
Best
Ghazal
Award
at
GiMA.
The
event
is
being
held
at
National
Sports
Club
of
India
Stadium
in
Mumbai.
Jagjit
Singh's
Master
and
his
Magic
has
been
awarded
the
Best
Ghazal
Award
at
GiMA
(Gionee
Star
Global
Indian
Music
Awards).
His
grandsons
accepted
the
award
at
fourth
edition
of
awards
ceremony.
This
is
a
special
award
given
to
the
album
to
honour
his
contribution
to
the
music
field.
The
singer
was
a
popular
ghazal
singer,
lyrics
writer
and
musician.
With
his
singer
wife
Chitra
Singh,
he
shot
to
fame
in
70s
through
albums
like
Arth
Saath
Saath
etc.
Jagjit
Singh
sang
in
multiple
languages.
The
awards
are
given
for
over
10
categories
in
the
different
filed
of
music.
Best
Music
Arranger
&
Programmer,
Best
Engineer,
Best
Background
Score,
Best
Music
Album,
Best
Play
Back
Singer
and
Best
Duet
are
some
of
the
categories.
