Following controversy regarding the statement on her bikini shot, Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor now realised that she has to be more careful with her words in an industry where statements are "twisted and distorted".
When much talks were making rounds regarding Sonam Kapoor's bikini shot in the recently released movie Bewakoofiyaan, the actress's father Anil Kapoor reportedly said that Sonam's bikini shot would offer a good opening to the movie. However, Sonam came up in defence of her 'jhakaas' papa saying that the statement was "twisted and distorted".
"My father never said that. All that I said at a press meet was that my father feels the film would get a good opening. But that statement was reported by linking with the bikini thing," said Sonam Kapoor. Expressing discontent at the ill-publicity, Sonam further added that, "I have realised I have to be more careful in what I say. I speak my heart out but such honesty is not appreciated in the film industry. Rather, it is twisted and distorted."
The 'style diva' of Bollywood also stood as a shield for the producer, Aditya Chopra and director Nupur Asthana and claimed that the idea of flaunting in bikini was her own. "The idea of wearing bikini wasn't Aditya or Nupur's. In fact, the director suggested a one-piece bathing costume but I thought bikini to be more appropriate," asserted Sonam. She went on to add that, "If you see the scene, you will feel that it's perfectly natural for the girl to be in a bikini. I wasn't really tense about wearing a bikini, in fact, I am very happy to be wearing one."
The movie Bewakoofiyaan starring Sonam Kapoor and Ayushmann Khurrana was released on March 14 but with Kangana Ranaut's Queen ruling the Box Office, Bewakoofiyaan is finding it hard to grab good coins.
