Hrithik Replaces Aamir In Science Fiction Film

Hrithik Roshan is roped in to play the lead of Excel Entertainment's time-travel drama, to be directed by Nitya Mehra. It was a role that went to Aamir Khan first but he was not satisfied with the script.

The hunt for the lead pair was on and it is now reported that Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone will be playing the lead roles in the science fiction flick. Deepika, who is now the hot favorite of Bollywood producers, earlier expressed her desire to work with Hrithik.

Director of this time travel drama, Nitya Mehra, is a debutante who was working as an assistant director for international films like The Reluctant Fundamentalist and Life of Pi. She also served as an AD to Farkhan Akhtar in Don.

A source very close to the production house said, "he film is a sci-fi drama with a time-travel spin. It has a romantic angle which spans across timeline. When the script went to Hrithik, he was impressed and promptly agreed to come on board."

Deepika was game for this project even when talks with Aamir was going on. A source close to us said, " Deepika wanted to act with Aamir Khan and she was a part of the project from the beginning. It's a film which will be made on a lavish scale and is expected to go on floors in February 2015 by which time she should be done with Karan Johar's Shuddhi."
