Rajkumar
Hirani
thinks
that
Bollywood
has
always
short
changed
writers
and
it's
time
writers
get
the
respect
they
truly
deserve.
Hirani,
who
directed
landmark
films
like
Munnabhai
MBBS,
3
Idiots
and
Lage
Raho
Munnabhai,
was
all
praise
for
the
writers
at
a
recent
event.
The
Munnabhai
director
said,
"A
good
story
makes
the
film
good.
The
script
has
to
be
right.
Writers
are
the
backbone
of
a
film.
I
feel
writers
are
not
given
their
due...They
should
be
given
respect
and
(be)
valued," Hirani
said.
Hirani
was
attending
a
program
in
Mumbai
Mantra-Sundance
Institute
Screenwriters
Lab
in
India.
Rajkumar
Hirani
also
has
been
a
co-writer
of
all
the
films
he
directed.
"It
is
great
that
these
people
are
providing
platform
and
right
guidance,"
Hirani
added.
Boman
Irani,
who
was
also
present
at
the
function,
talked
in
favour
of
writers,
"Writers
must
get
the
importance
they
deserve,
they
should
be
respected
and
must
be
paid
well."
Irani
emphasized
on
the
fact
that
it
is
from
the
hard
work
of
a
writer,
the
whole
blueprint
of
the
movie
is
made.
He
also
said
if
Bollywood
want
to
grow
in
terms
of
aesthetics,
it
is
must
to
ensure
that
the
industry
has
good
writers.
"If
we
want
our
industry
to
grow
we
must
ensure
we
have
good
writers.
Despite
having
the
greatest
and
richest
literature
in
the
world,
we
are
not
using
it
in
right
way...which
would
form
great
stories".
He
added.
