Veteran Actor Sadashiv Amrapurkar Passes Away

Bollywood actor Sadashiv Amrapurkar passed away today at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai. He was being treated for a lung infection.

Sadashiv was 64. The actor's last rites will be performed in his native place in Ahmednagar district tomorrow, family sources said.

Amrapurkar had won two Filmfare awards. In 1984, he won the award for the best supporting actor for Ardh Satya and in 1991, the best villain trophy for his portrayal of a ruthless eunuch in Sadak.

Sadashiv's famous work in Bollywood include Aankhen, Ishq, Coolie No. 1 and Gupt: The Hidden Truth.

Marathi movies became his concentration after these films.. Amrapurkar was last seen on the big screen in 2012 film 'Bombay Talkies'. He had become selective and was more into social work in the recent years.

The actor is survived by his wife Sunanda who he married in 1973, three daughters, three sons-in-law and three grandchildren.
