Pursuing
a
career
in
Bollywood
can
be
very
unpredictable,
and
that's
exactly
why
Alia
Bhatt
has
a
back-up
plan
if
she
fails
to
make
her
mark
as
an
actress
in
Bollywood.
Yes,
you
heard
it
right!
The
young
teenager,
who
is
just
two
films
old
knows
exactly
what
to
do
if
she
is
not
successful
as
a
heroine.
Alia
Bhatt
has
decided
that
if
not
an
actress,
then
she
would
become
a
singer!
Alia
has
lent
her
voice
for
a
song
in
her
upcoming
film
Highway.
It
so
happened
that
director
Imtiaz
Ali
asked
her
if
she
could
sing
for
Highway,
and
she
immediately
agreed.
Speaking
about
her
experience
at
the
films
promotional
event,
Alia
Bhatt
said,
"I
am
not
a
singer...
I
think
I
am
a
bathroom
singer.
When
I
was
asked
to
sing
I
was
excited
and
thought
of
trying
it
(singing)
out.
A
R
Rahman
sir
was
very
patient
with
me.
If
I
fail
as
an
actress,
I
will
become
a
singer."
The
reason
why
Imtiaz
Ali
asked
Alia
to
sing
was
that
the
pretty
lass
often
sang
Rahman's
song
'Jiya
Re
Jiya'
whenever
the
team
travelled
(since
it's
a
road
movie).
Imtiaz
therefore
thought
of
exploring
her
singing
talent.
her
singing
talent.
A.R.
Rahman
told
her
to
practice
daily
and
assured
her
that
if
she
learns
singing
for
atleast
two
years,
she
could
easily
release
an
album.
