'Zid' Not My Film: Vivek Agnihotri

Makers of the film Zid featuring Barbie Handa are using Vivek Agnihotri's name under director, but Vivek says he is not in anyway associated with the film. Confused? Yes! we are too.

Vivek Agnihotri says that Zid is not his film, while producer Anubhav Sinha has given the credit of direction to Vivek. True that Vivek wrote the script of the film thinking that it is a thriller. However, after the first schedule of the film in Goa, Anubhav Sinha made it into erotic thriller.

This made Vivek upset and he disassociated himself from the project after that. "I left the film on moral and professional grounds," clarified Agnihotri.

Barbie Handa, first cousin of actress Priyanka Chopra is making her debut in Bollywood with Zid. While Vivek Agnihotri is very proud of his find Barbie Handa, now Mannara, he says, I was hired to make an intelligent psychological thriller based on a Canadian film ‘The Good Neighbour' for which Anubhav had taken rights. Everyone signed the film thinking that they were doing a psychological thriller."

"After the Goa schedule, Anubhav promoted it like Erotica which i objected and decided to part ways. I told Anubhav that I don't want to be part of a film which I never shot. Now, how can I let my name associated with a film which I never shot?" asks Vivek.
