Salman Khan always manages to find himself in the middle of controversy and this time he had the whole nation turned against him.
From last few days, the actor had enjoying his successful innings at Box Office with his new movie, Bajrangi Bhaijaan which has a cross border, Indo-Pakistan theme.
During such a time, one would expect him to tread with caution but Salman did the unthinkable and tweet about the death sentence of 1993 Mumbai blasts accused Yakub Memon.
He wrote, "Hang Tiger. Brother is being hanged for Tiger. Arre Where is Tiger? Get tiger hang him. Parade him not his brother. One innocent man killed is killing the humanity."
His father, Salim Khan spoke to Times Now saying, "Whatever Salman has written is totally meaningless. I do not support it. His tweets are wrong."
Shiv Sena chief, Uddhav Thackeray, Mumbai BJP president Ashish Shelar and several others expressed anger on Salman's statements, questioning him if he was against the judicial system of the country.
Ashish on the other hand has requested cancellation of bail granted in his 2002 hit and run case. He said, "I submitted a letter to the Governor requesting cancellation of bail of convicted Salman Khan for supporting a convict."
Salman has got himself into big trouble, where his other issues are also getting affected. Check out the pictures of the BJP protests outside his Galaxy apartment in Mumbai and also the police protection.
I had tweeted that Tiger Memon should hang for his crimes and I stand by it. What i also said is that Yakub Memon should not hang for him.
Yakub Not Innocent
I have not said or implied that Yakub Memon is innocent. I have complete faith in the judicial system of our country.
Many lives were lost in the Mumbai blasts. And I have repeatedly said the loss of one innocent life is equal to the loss of all humanity.
Salim Doesn't Support Salman
My dad called & said I should retract my tweets as they have the potential to create misunderstanding. I here by retract them.
I would like to unconditionally apologise for any misunderstanding I may have created unintentionally.
Salman Respects All Faiths
I also strongly condemn those who are claiming my tweets are anti religious. I have always said I respect all faiths and I always will.
