In the midst of all the voices and opinions, the Airlift star, Akshay Kumar, who is busy gearing up for the promotion of the movie, spoke to reporters about the raging debate.
Akshay Kumar, who has always been careful and politically correct with his words, chose to stay away from the controversy by doing the best he can, that is keeping mum. Yes, the actor informed reporters that he would never speak anything about the issue and chose to stay silent.
Akshay Kumar was quoted as saying, "Don't try to get any quote out of me because I won't say anything."
Reporters, tried to further explain to Akshay Kumar about the comments made by Shahrukh Khan and Aamir Khan. Akshay, who always stays away from controversies immediately snubbed reporters by saying, "I don't know who has got what problems. All I can say is I'm proud to be an Indian."
The Khiladi of Bollywood, Akshay Kumar had recently donated 90 Lakhs to drought-hit farmers in Maharashtra and even then, the actor did not comment on the issue. The actor was quoted as saying,
"I don't want to talk about it. I feel it is stupidity to talk about it. I feel embarrassed to answer all these things. I have never spoken about it."
Akshay Kumar, further continued to say, "You all write about it and I am sure they (people) will get inspired. It is in your hands. You want me to say.. one day I thought about it and read in newspaper and felt it is bad. Everybody does it and there is nothing to talk about it. I don't know what to say."
