Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's Statement On Ad Controversy

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan got into a controversy after a printed ad came out which allegedly promotes racism and child slavery.

Aishwarya featured in an ad for Kalyan Jewellers and the image presents well ornamented Ash as a queen while, a black kid is seen holding an umbrella over her head.

While, this ad has already triggered much controversy and a group of activists have also forwarded an open letter to Aishwarya, the diva has come out with a statement.

One statement has been released by Aishwarya Rai's PR which asserts that the actual image has been changed by the brand and the original photoshoot had a blank background.

The statement has been addressed to some of the persons who forwarded the open letter and it reads,

"Dear Farah Naqvi, Nisha Agrawal, Enakshi Ganguly , Bharti Ali, Madhu Mehra, Shantha Sinha, Harsh Mander and Mridula Bajaj,

On the onset we would like to thank you on drawing our attention to the observation of the perception of the advertisement. Here is an attachment of the shot taken by somebody during the shoot. The final layout of the ad is entirely the prerogative of the creative team for a brand. However shall forward your article as a viewpoint that can be taken into consideration by the creative team of professional working on the brand visual communication.
