Rock On 2 Will Have Less Love Story, More Rock Music
Shraddha Kapoor, will be a member of the band in Rock On 2 and would sing along with Farhan Akthar. The sequel will focus more on rock music and less on love story as compared to Rock On!! which was a struggle between love life and rock music.
Prachi Desai, will continue playing the role of Farhan's wife, and Shraddha is not casted opposite to Farhan. She is an additional member of the rock band. A source was quoted as saying,
"Shraddha's role is more pivotal than Prachi's. The film will be more about the rock band and will feature more members, including these two."
Rock On!! was a rare film in Bollywood that focused on rock music. The movie showcased the struggles of rock bands in India who suffer from financial crisis and family pressure. The songs had an electric and acoustic version of rock.
Rock On 2, would be shot in the Shillong and Mumbai. The movie is expected to go on floors this September. The filmmakers are planning the release in August 2016.
India has seen a growth of female rock bands from The Vinyl Records, The Void and solo artists like Liza Lyngdoh and Vihan Damaris. Now that Shraddha Kapoor has joined the rock band in Rock On 2, we expect the rise of more women bands in the country. One for Rock n' Roll!
