Deepika
Padukone
has
been
trending
on
social
media
ever
since
her
'My
Choice'
video
went
viral.
The
video
supposedly
aimed
at
promoting
women
empowerment,
received
mixed
responses
and
still
continues
to
attract
reactions.
While,
some
supported
the
thoughts
described
in
Deepika
Padukone's
'My
Choice'
video,
others
slammed
it
and
now
one
political
leader
also
expressed
his
views
on
the
same.
BJP
leader
Murli
Manohar
Joshi
was
asked
about
his
opinion
on
the
video
and
his
reaction
was
not
in
favour
of
Deepika
Padukone
or
the
makers
of
the
video.
"When
God
wanted
to
be
everywhere,
he
created
mother.
But
now
that
has
become
an
old
concept.
Now
I
have
a
choice,
now
you
see
we
have
a
choice.
Now
you
are
a
body,
a
commodity.
This
is
the
height
of
lack
of
consciouness," said
the
BJP
leader.
He
further
added,
"We
don't
realise
how
much
we
have
changed.
It
has
been
an
Indian
tradition
of
addressing
women
as
mother
but
now
there
are
objections
at
being
called
a
mother."
Joshi
also
criticised
Deepika
Padukone
and
the
makers
of
the
video
'My
Choice'
by
saying,
"While
foreigners
keep
marvelling
about
India's
rich
culture
and
traditional
ways
that
were
far
more
scientific,
we
contribute
to
follow
the
West
and
shun
our
own
traditions
and
cultures.
We
have
lost
our
consciousness."
The
video
'My
Choice'
was
a
joint
creation
by
Homi
Adajania
and
Deepika
Padukone,
aiming
at
women
empowerment.
