The 60th Britannia Filmfare Awards, 2014 is on and there have been a lot of speculations on which films and stars will get highest number of awards this year.

Talking about the best debutant director award, there have been a number of good movies which were directed by new directors who made their debut this year.

Some of the mention worthy names in the line of debutant directors include Sajid Nadiadwala for Kick, Vinil Mathew for Hasee Toh Phasee, Abhishek Varman for 2 States, Samar Shaikh for Bobby Jasoos, Omung Kumar for Mary Kom.

Nevertheless, Abhishek Varman won the title and became the best debutant director for the movie 2 States. The film 2 States, an adaptation of Chetan Bhagat's novel by the same name, starred Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in lead roles.

Abhishek Varman's 2 States became a super-hit.
