Kangana Ranaut To Play Rani Lakshmi Bai With Hollywood Actor Hugh Grant

The Bollywood actress, Kangana Ranaut, who has given us, back to back wonderful films i.e. Vikash Bahl's Queen and Anand L Rai's Tanu Weds Manu Returns, is all set to play the role of real warrior Queen on the silver screen.

According to the sources, the phenomenal actress, has been roped in for Mangal Pandey's director, Ketan Mehta's next, in which she will be seen playing the character of Rani Lakshmi Bai aka Jhansi Ki Rani.

Reportedly, the Katti Batti actress got very excited when she was approached for role and later, she also appreciated the script. Kangana will very soon undergo ample training in sword-fighting & horseback-riding to portay the role in an original manner.

Apparently, rumours are doing rounds that to play the character of General Hugh Rose, (who had commanded the Central Indian Field Force and crushed the Indian rebels at Jhansi in 1858, and witnessed the bravery of Rani Lakshmi Bai during the rebellion), will be played by Hollywood actor Hugh Grant.

Well, isn't it fascinating that in our whole school life, we learnt so much about Indian warrior Queen Rani Lakshmi Bai and now we'll witness the Bollywood Queen, living the character of Jhansi ki Rani.

It seems that Kangana knows well how to amaze the audiences by showing her capabilities through doing different genres of films.The film is expected to go on floors by next year (2016) and will be filmed in Hindi and English.
