Director of Brothers, Karan Malhotra is very excited about
the response that Kareena's 'Mera Naam Mary' received and he
revealed some interesting facts about the song.
One leading entertainment site quoted Karan Malhotra revealing
why they roped in Kareena for the song and how important this song
is for the film Brothers.
"Both Karan Johar and I thought that Kareena would be great for
the number. Kareena has absolutely made Mary her own. I enjoy this
kind of celebration with a great song at a critical moment in the
film. This kind of a number uplifts the momentum of the film as
this song will come at a crucial moment," said Malhotra.
It is to be mentioned, Karan Malhotra's previous film Agneepath
included the popular item number 'Chikni Chameli' featuring Katrina
Kaif and that song also got its place during a very important scene
when Hrithik Roshan and Sanjay Dutt face each other.
Talking further about the song video, Malhotra adds, "It was a
challenging shoot. We had put a set outdoor, which can be difficult
to handle. If you have a set up indoor, you are in a controlled
environment but the moment you start shooting outside, the dynamics
change. The shooting went on for seven nights and Kareena did a
great job. There were times we need to do 10 or 20 takes due to
outdoor shooting but she never had any issues".
It has been learnt that this song 'Mera Naam Mary' is a reprised version of 'Ye Go Ye Maina' from the movie Kombdi Palali.
