Kareena Kapoor was recently in news for a morphed picture on the cover of a magazine issued by VHP's women wing.
The magazine, apparently a campaign against 'Love Jihad' used Kareena Kapoor's morphed picture for the cover whereby, the actress's face was half covered with a burqa and the other half resembles a Hindu bride.
Although, Kareena Kapoor's husband Saif Ali Khan did not make any comment then, the actor has now stood up for his wife. It has been reported that Saif Ali Khan not only denied rumours of Kareena Kapoor getting converted after marriage, he also questioned the character of VHP.
A report in a leading daily quoted Saif Ali Khan saying that Kareena Kapoor never got converted. Saif further urged people not to make Kareena Kapoor a subject of any religious controversy, instead she should be respected for her contribution towards the nation at large through cinema and her work for women's rights.
Stating Kareena Kapoor as a symbol of strong modern woman, Saif Ali Khan further targeted VHP saying that people should question the character, wisdom and intellect of such groups before giving them any significance.
