Looks like Salman Khan has made a promise in haste to a widow's family and may end up breaking it, sooner or later.
Salman, is well known for his philanthropic side and has a heart of an helping child. Apart from acting, he is actively involved in 'Being Human' NGO and never misses an opportunity to go out of his way to help people in distress.
So during the shoot of Bajrangi Bhaijaan in Kashmir, Salman was heartstricken for a widow's family and decided to adopt them completely. The family includes a 75-year old lady, her 40-year old daughter and her four grandchildren.
Salman offered them financial support and got the construction on their house started, arranged a job for the only boy in the family Gowhar Ahmad Bhat- 18, in the art department on the sets of Bajrangi Bhaijaan. All was well for the family and burdens were lessened up until the completion of the movie.
Now that the shooting is completed and the movie is released, the family claims that all help has been withdrawn since then. Salman is away from the valley and his bodyguard never picks up their call. The family says his number is mostly not reachable and when it connects, they end up stating that Salman is travelling.
"I've tried to call his (Salman's) bodyguard, Shera, several times. He never answers and sometimes his phone is out of reach. Before the release of the film, they would call us, but now they've stopped taking our calls. I've left my studies and I'm looking for odd jobs to support my family, still hoping that Salman Khan will keep his promise to us." says Gowhar, in a popular tabloid.
The local contractor who had been working on the construction of the house claims that the star has a pending amount of Rs 2.61 lakh, whenever he calls up Salman's people they tell him that he's travelling and promise to settle the bill soon.
A source close to Salman has now informed the same tabloid that "Salman has no intention of back-tracking on his promises. Since Gowhar, is the only male child in the family, he needs to take up a job nearby". So they've requested a few people for a job in the valley.
As far as the construction work goes the source claims that the "work is still in progress and that the house would be ready in about a month". The source further adds "Once the house is complete we will send picture of it and you will see for yourself that Salman kept his promise."
