In Spite Of Neerja's Success, Sonam Kapoor Has No Film In Hand!

Sonam Kapoor had a streak of bad luck with movies like Dolly Ki Doli, Khoobsurat tanking at the Box Office. Things changed with Salman Khan starrer Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, which helped her bag Neerja.

Neerja was a biopic about Neerja Bhanot, the film not only minted good money at the Box Office but it also garnered the actress, major respect.

She was lauded for her performance in the movie and considering the huge success of the film, one would expect her to be showered with film offers.

When media questioned the actress about her next project, Sonam said, "No, I haven't signed anything and it's stressing me out that I haven't."

Well, this is sad, in spite of being part of a 100 crore film like Prem Ratan Dhan Payo and in spite of her solo film, Neerja minting huge money at the Box Office, the actress has zero films in hand.

But, at least she is bagging more endorsements, she replaced Aishwarya as the face of Kalyan Jewellers and was part of a stunning photoshoot.

When Sonam was further question about remuneration and pay disparity she said, "It is slowly changing, but it's a far way off despite the numbers that 'Neerja' has done and despite the numbers my films have done."

"I have been a part of female-centric films but we are still only opening to 700 screens. It's not about what the industry is paying you... It's about whether the audience wants to see the film or not. If my film is going to open at Rs.6 crore, is it okay for the producer to pay me that money or not," she further added.

The reason for her not getting paid much, even though her film earned Rs 6 crores on day one is because not every film of Sonam was a big hit. Let's see, what the future holds for her.
