Katrina's Purpose In Life
At the 32nd Priyadarshni Academy Global Aawrds, Katrina Kaif said that cinema has given her the purpose in her life and she has been truthful about it.
Katrina Kaif, who was honoured with the Smita Patil Memorial award recently for her contribution to Hindi cinema, promised that she will always be sincere towards her work.
At the event, she said, "I believe the most important thing in art is truth. And I can promise that my attempt is sincere and truthful to the craft, which has largely given me my purpose in life over the last few years."

Katrina Kaif, who was presented the award by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, said she accepts the honour on behalf of every woman.

Praising Katrina Kaif, Swara Bhaskar told a daily, "Whether or not Katrina Kaif is a good actor notwithstanding, there is no denying that she is a hugely hard-working, disciplined and diligent person.''

Swara Bhaskar further added, ''It reflects in her work. And any artist of any field will tell you that hard work is something to be respected."
The 33-year-old actress said, "I believe the world of cinema, not only Indian cinema, is often called a man's world. It is changing but the change is slow. So I believe it is a matter of great pride that we have an award that acknowledges and recognises the contribution of women to cinema.''

Katrina also paid tribute to the legendry actress Smita Patil, "This award honours the memory of one of the greatest and accomplished actresses whose role served as an inspiration to the lives of millions of women. It is said that woman hold up half the sky but a woman like Smitaji showed us not even the sky is the limit."
She further added, "As an actor, the love of the people is the biggest reward. But when there is recognition from the industry, in the form of an award, for me it is very overwhelming.''
In the same speech, Katrina Kaif also mentioned that she accepts the honour on behalf of every woman who seeks to excel in her field of work.
