Mahira Khan, the lead actress of Shahrukh Khan starrer Raees, has a very unique & important role in the movie, and would be prominently helping Shahrukh Khan, reach his tenacle of success in, Raees.

A source close to the movie was quoted as saying,

"The film is based in the backdrop of the Muslim ghetto in Gujarat and Raees is essentially a story of this man who becomes powerful. The heroine's role is also a prominent one - that of SRK's wife, a Muslim woman."

So the storyline of Shahrukh Khan's Raees, is set against the backdrop of a Muslim ghetto, and SRK's wife is also a Muslim woman, and of course without the support of his wife, Shahrukh Khan, can never reach his desired place.

It's also surprising that Mahira Khan, was not the first choice to be casted in Raees. The film-makers had a different actress in mind and that actress is none other than, Huma Qureshi.

Yes, Huma Qureshi was the actress the film-makers of Raees wanted to rope in at first. However they changed their mind later and roped in Mahira Khan instead, as she had the kind of mannerism that Raees required.

A source close to the movie Raees was quoted as saying,

"Huma Qureshi. They thought Huma would fit the bill and also they wanted a fresh pairing of sorts. But then, they got Mahira on board because the character required the actress to have a certain kind of mannerism and lingo and being a Pakistani, Mahira totally nailed it."

The first teaser of Raees, grabbed eyeballs and it's reported that the second teaser of the movie will be out soon.

It is also reported that Shahrukh Khan and Mahira Khan, have just completed shooting a dance sequence for Raees, and SRK, is very happy with the results.
