LIGHTS, CAMERA & ACTION! Shahid Kapoor Begins Shooting For Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati

Some great news for all Shahid Kapoor fans! The actor has started shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's much talked about film Padmavati. While his co-stars Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone have already started working on this movie, Shahid too has kick-started filming for his role today.

Sasha shared this piece of news with his fans on Twitter and posted a classic selfie flaunting his bearded look...

He captioned the picture as Day 1. #padmavati wish me luck guys.

Shahid plays the role of Raja Rawal Ratan Singh whereas Deepika Padukone essays his wife Rani Padmavati. Ranveer Singh has been roped in to play Sultan Alauddin Khilji.

Bhansali's film revolves around Alauddin Khilji and his obsessive love for Queen Padmavati of Mewar. Said to be his most ambitious project, the movie will be about the queen's courage to fight her undefeated nemesis.

Shahid is quite excited to work with Deepika for the first time. In an earlier interview he had said, "In Padmavati, we have a lot of work together and I am really looking forward to working with her. I have been seeing her do some great work, especially in the last few years. She has really upped her game and she's at her best right now. She's probably doing better work than many today. So that's awesome. It's great that we are working together in a film like Padmavati because it's a great opportunity for anybody who's a part of this film. I really feel that Padmavati is going to be a special film."

Padmavati is slated to release on 17th November, 2017.
