The
biggest
clash
of
the
year
2016,
had
to
be
between
Salman
Khan
starrer
Sultan,
and
Shahrukh
Khan
starrer
Raees
during
Eid,
and
now
it
looks
like
Shahrukh
Khan
will
bow
down
to
any
sort
of
competition
and
wants
to
avoid
a
clash
of
the
titans.
Rumours
are
doing
the
rounds,
that
Shahrukh
Khan
wants
Raees
to
release
on
a
holiday,
and
has
decided
to
postpone
Raees
to
January
26,
2017.
Now
the
problem
here
again
is
that,
Hrithik
Roshan's
Kaabil,
would
release
on
the
same
date,
leading
to
another
clash.
In
an
exclusive
interview
to
Bollywoodlife,
Shahrukh
Khan
was
quoted
as
saying,
"I
guess
we
(Raees)
could
shift.
But
I
don't
know
the
readiness
of
Sultan.
They
all
are
friends
-
Adi
(Aditya
Chopra),
Salman
(Khan),
Ali
(Abbas
Zafar),
I
know
them
all.
So,
if
mutually
we
all
can
figure
out
a
date
where
one
of
us
goes
a
week
up
or
down,
we
might!
Or
we
might
not!" In
fact,
soon
after
this,
he
even
confessed
in
a
PTI
interview
saying,
"I
think
logic
will
be
to
shift
(release
dates
of
both
'Raees'
and
'Sultan').
We
will
try
and
figure
out
a
way
so
that
it
doesn't
eat
into
each
other's
business.
It
is
awkward...
it's
like
what
are
we
doing.
I
don't
think
we
like
to
have
it
(box
office
clash)."
An
Industry
expert
was
very
delighted
about
the
decision
and
was
quoted
as
saying,
"It's
a
sensible
decision.
Everyone
knows
Salman
reigns
the
BO
on
Eid
as
it
has
been
happening
for
the
last
three
years.
Which
is
why,
the
makers
(Dholakia
and
producers
Ritesh
Sidhwani
and
Farhan
Akhtar)
of
Raees
have
decided
to
shift
the
release
date
of
the
film.
While
the
film
is
complete,
they
don't
want
to
take
any
chances
with
Salman
Khan,
who
is
a
huge
draw
on
Eid.
In
2014,
his
Kick
release
had
made
over
Rs300
crore
while
last
year
Bajrangi
Bhaijaan
crossed
the
Rs600
crore-mark
worldwide."
It
is
reported
that
Shahrukh
Khan,
has
had
a
word
with
the
Roshans
regarding
January,
2017
release,
but
no
official
confirmation
has
been
given
out
by
the
film-makers
of
Kaabil.
Shahrukh
Khan,
is
now
stuck
in
a
dire
straits,
and
the
Baadshah
of
Bollywood,
wants
to
release
Raees
on
a
holiday,
but
does
not
want
to
take
on
Salman
Khan
starrer
Sultan
on
Eid.
SRK,
wanted
to
release
Raees
in
July,
2016
and
clash
alongside
Varun
Dhawan's
Dishoom.
However,
since
there
is
no
long
holiday
in
July,
Shahrukh
Khan
changed
his
mind
at
the
last
moment.
Shahrukh
Khan,
then
decided
to
have
an
Independence
Day
release
in
August
2016,
but
Raees,
would
end
up
clashing
with
Akshay
Kumar
starrer
Rustom
and
Hrithik
Roshan's
Mohenjo
Daro.
Akshay
Kumar's
Rustom,
is
a
patriotic
movie
and
the
release
on
Independence
Day
would
be
a
crowd
puller
for
Akshay.
Mohenjo
Daro,
showcases
the
beauty
of
ancient
India,
and
the
Independence
Day
release
is
at
the
perfect
time,
leaving
no
space
for
Raees.
The
other
option
of
a
holiday
release
is
in
October,
2016
for
Diwali.
However,
Karan
Johar's
Ae
Dil
Hai
Mushkil
and
Ajay
Devgan's
Shivaay,
has
booked
the
slot
for
a
Diwali
release.
It
is
reported
that
someone
close
to
Shahrukh
Khan,
has
suggested
requesting
Karan
Johar
to
release
his
movie
to
a
further
date.
However,
no
official
confirmation
has
been
given
out
about
the
same.
The
last
option
for
a
2016
holiday
release
is
for
Christmas,
and
if
Raees
is
released
in
December,
it
would
end
up
clashing
alongside
Aamir
Khan's
Dangal.
We
will
have
to
wait
and
watch,
as
to
what
decision
Shahrukh
Khan
and
the
film-makers
of
Raees
would
decide
on
the
film's
release
date.
Whatever
it
might
be,
Raees
vs
Sultan
is
the
most
exciting
and
a
promising
one.
