Gustakhiyan: Shahrukh Khan To Play Poet Sahir Ludhianvi In Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Next?
Reports suggest that SRK met the ‘Devdas’ director last week where the later handed him the script saying that he would love to direct him.
Sometime back we had reported that the tinsel town is abuzz with rumours that Sanjay Leela Bhansali is keen to reunite with his 'Devdas' actor Shahrukh Khan for the Sahir Ludhianvi biopic reportedly titled Gustakhiyan.
Well, it turns out that all these speculations are absolutely true! As per a Mumbai Mirror report, Bhansali and SRK met last week to discuss the film and if all works out well then, the duo might collaborate on the film in 2018. The daily quoted a source saying, "Bhansali and SRK met late one night last week and the filmmaker handed over the complete script of the biopic to SRK, telling him that he would like to direct him in 2018. There is a lot of poetry in the film and SRK has been reading Sahir's ghazals and nazms."
While SRK is yet to sign the dotted lines, we hear that the actor has loved the script and his eagerly to reunite with Bhansali. The source further said, "Bhansali and SRK have been spending a lot of time together lately, discussing work and cinema." adding that the makers are yet to finalize the leading lady who will play Amrita Pritam.
Reportedly, Gustakhiyan will follow Sahir's relationship with poetess-novelist Amrita Pritam before he went on to court singer-actress Sudha Malhotra.
