''The movie is going to be directed by Abhishek Varman who directed 2014's runaway success 2 States. The movie already has Varun Dhawan locked in the lead and the makers have now zeroed in on Jahnavi Kapoor to to be paired opposite Dhawan in the movie. The movie was initially planned to take off by the end of the year but now Judwaa 2 will begin first and Shidaat is going to mount the sets by the mid-next year,'' the report stated.
