The Yash Raj Films production is being released on 4,000 screens in India and 1,100 screens in the rest of the world. The advance booking of the film has been fantastic and all the first day first shows of Sultan are housefull.
In the movie, Salman Khan plays Sultan Ali Khan, a 40-year-old wrestler from Haryana who has battled in the ring and in his personal life. Anushka Sharma plays his love interest, Aarfa, who is also a wrestler. Randeep Hooda will be seen as Sultan's coach.
Talking about Salman Khan'r role in the movie, Ali Abbas Zafar told India Today, ''It's the toughest role he has played - both emotionally and physically. It is a very demanding character. One of the reasons Salman agreed to do Sultan was to challenge himself as an actor, to see whether he can pull it off. Salman has internalised the character beautifully. He holds your eye in every frame.''
