Vidya
Balan
is
known
for
taking
up
interesting
characters
when
it
comes
to
her
choice
of
films.
After
playing
a
radio
jockey
in
Rajkumar
Hirani's
Lage
Raho
Munnabhai,
the
actress
is
all
geared
up
to
go
behind
the
mic
once
again,
but
this
time
there's
a
small
twist.
She
has
bagged
ad
film-maker
Suresh
Triveni's
directorial
debut
Tumhari
Sulu
which
has
her
essaying
the
role
of
Sulochana,
fondly
called
as
Sulu.
Her
character
in
the
film,
Sulu
lands
herself
an
unexpected
job
of
a
beautiful,
fun
and
feisty
RJ,
who
anchors
a
late-night
show,
known
for
its
voyeuristic
quality
and
semi-adult
shenanigans.
Talking
about
her
role
in
the
film,
Vidya
was
quoted
saying,
"Sulu
is
like
that
nimbu...
you
add
nimbu
for
taste
or
then
add
it
to
balance
taste;
zesty
&
versatile!
I
think
she'll
unleash
my
naughty
side."
Director
Suresh
Triveni
was
quoted
saying,
"Tumhari
Sulu
has
been
handcrafted
for
Vidya
and
to
have
her
as
a
lead
in
my
first
feature
is
an
honour.
I
look
forward
to
seeing
the
story
come
alive
as
I
have
lived
with
it
for
almost
a
year
now.
I
am
delighted
to
have
found
great
producers,
Ellipsis
and
T-Series,
for
this
incredible
journey."
On
the
other
hand,
Bhushan
Kumar
added,
"Today
the
audience
is
evolved
and
wants
to
see
real
and
relatable
cinema.
Tumhari
Sulu
is
a
lovely
heart-warming
story
tailor
made
for
Vidya
and
we
are
proud
to
produce
it
with
Ellipsis."
Tumhari
Sulu
will
go
on
floors
in
April.
Meanwhile,
Vidya's
next
release
Kahaani
2
will
be
hitting
the
big
screens
this
Friday.
