Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan starrer Badrinath Ki Dulhania is doing really well at the box office and is inching towards the 100 Crores club mark. The film has been widely accepted by the audiences but a few haters are criticising the movie by calling it regressive. The bubbly Alia shut down the haters by saying,
"I'm not somebody who is averse to criticism. I welcome all kinds of critique. But honestly, the film has been loved unanimously. There will always be some people who will say something different from what you think about the film. But that's their take. I'm not going to tell them what they should feel. But majority has loved the film and that's what matters."
That's true and we agree with Alia Bhatt here. The majority of the people who have watched the film have absolutely loved it but it's a few people who are up in arms and finding fault at every little thing in the movie. Especially a women's activist group was up in arms against the male molestation scene and the director had to clarify that the scene was just a joke shot in a funny manner to show the plight and helpessness of the lead actor.
Badrinath Ki Dulhania deals with the evils of a regressive society in north India and touches upon the subjects of dowry and patriarchy. The chemistry bewteen Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan is top notch and that helped the film connect with the audiences instantly.
