As terrible as it sounds, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh starrer Padmavati's sets had been burnt to the ground last night by unknown vandalisers and almost all the equipments and other valuable things have been reduced to ashes. The incident took place in Kolhapur and a fringe group is responsible for the arson.
Times Now reported that a bunch of local goons attacked and burnt the sets last night and the visuals have been circulating on the news channels. Thankfully, the crew were able to save many equipments, but the losses occurred are yet to be reported.
According to reports, the arson took place at 10 PM last night right after the shoot was completed. We can guess that the entire crew including the actors would have been present at the location. Thankfully, there have been no reports of any injury to anyone, so far and we hope Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Sanjay Leela Bhansali are safe and secure.
Padmavati has been facing a lot of protests and violence from fringe groups and Sanjay Leela Bhansali was also manhandled by a group of protesters in Jaipur last month. We hope the Police will nab the arsonists and put them behind bars at the earliest.
