Jacqueline
Fernandez
loves
the
sea
and
has
taken
up
a
social
cause
and
associated
herself
with
marine
conservation.
She
wants
to
lend
her
support
to
the
environmental
cause
in
order
to
save
the
marine
life.
A
source
close
to
the
actress
opened
up
to
HT,
"Jacqueline
is
someone
who
loves
the
sea
and
visiting
beaches.
She
will
now
be
spreading
awareness
to
save
the
flora
and
fauna
in
India."
Jacqueline
opened
up
by
saying
that
our
ecosystem
is
taking
a
severe
beating
and
she'll
do
everything
possible
to
combat
it.
She
said,
"Around
the
world,
marine
ecosystems
are
being
threatened
and
destroyed
by
human
activities.
Take
a
stroll
along
any
beach
or
a
ride
on
a
ferry,
you
will
get
an
idea
of
how
much
litter
is
floating
around
in
the
form
of
plastic
bottles,
fish
boxes,
light
bulbs,
scraps
of
fishing
net
or
timber."
She
says
globally
the
seas
are
filled
with
garbage
and
it's
a
disheartening
sight
and
will
take
measures
to
prevent
the
filth
being
thrown
all
across
the
sea.
"We
can
start
with
the
smallest
of
steps
to
contribute
towards
marine
conservation,
like
restricting
or
reducing
our
use
of
plastic
products.
Plastic
ends
up
as
ocean
debris,
contributing
to
habitat
destruction
and
killing
thousands
of
marine
animals
each
year.
We
can
also
help
by
not
littering
beaches
and
waterways,
and
disposing
off
waste
in
an
environmentally
safe
way,
and
reusing
and
recycling
whenever
possible."
She
summed
it
up
by
quoting
her
own
experience
by
the
sea
and
said,
"I've
witnessed
this
many
times
on
the
ferry
to
Alibaug
or
Madh
Island,
and
it's
a
disheartening
sight.
We
need
to
educate
people
and
spread
awareness
on
marine
conservation."
