Kangana Ranaut who has several hit films to her credit is now all geared up to direct a film soon and from what we have been hearing, she is keen to helm a biopic.
A DNA report quoted a source saying, "Rangoon has released and her next film Simran, will be arriving in September this year. Meanwhile, there are reports that her long-standing project Rani Lakshmibai is now being revived. Once she's done with this Ketan Mehta film, she will head straight into her directorial venture. That would be sometime next year."
A close associate of the actress commented, "What is further remarkable is the fact that she is doing this when she is at the top of her game. She could have signed multiple films as an actress after Tanu Weds Manu Returns, but she decided to wait. There is a very good probability that she will be casting herself as the central protagonist in the film, hence, playing the dual role of a director and actress." It will be a swift transition into a new role for Kangana."
When Kangana was quizzed if she is indeed donning the director's hat, the 'Rangoon' actress confirmed the development and said, "That's correct, I need growth in some other dimension now. A film of mine has to be something else. The role that I play has to be something remarkable. I am looking at a step ahead and direction is the next logical thing for me. To direct a biopic next is something that is happening for sure."
However, she refused to divulge any details about the subject for her directorial debut but added with a hearty laugh, "Yeh toh 2019 ki baat ho gayi ab. Thoda time dete hain saari details dene mein. Rangoon and Rani Lakshmibai ke baad banaani hai movie. I am ready for it though. Bring it on!"
We are waiting for this one, Kangana!
