Prakash Jha On Lipstick Under My Burkha: I Am Positive!
Prakash Jha screens Lipstick Under My Burkha to the Film Certification Appellate Tribunal members and says that he's positive the tribunal will support the film.
The
Censor
Board
had
left
Prakash
Jha's
upcoming
film
Lipstick
Under
My
Burkha
high
and
dry
as
they
refused
to
certify
it
claiming
that
it
is
too
"lady
oriented" and
also
called
it
"pornography".
Outraged
and
disappointed
at
CBFC's
injustice
towards
the
film,
Prakash
Jha
screened
the
movie
to
the
Film
Certification
Appellate
Tribunal
members
and
revealed
that
he's
positive
the
tribunal
members
will
give
a
supportive
judgement.
He
said,
"We
have
shown
the
film
to
the
members
of
Tribunal.
We
have
made
our
submissions
and
they
have
said
they
will
let
us
know
their
judgement.
I
am
positive.
It
is
in
the
hands
of
Tribunal."
Lipstick
Under
My
Burkha
is
a
film
which
showcases
the
aspirations
of
women
and
it
also
includes
sexual
aspiration
and
abusive
words
and
that
has
not
gone
down
well
with
the
CBFC
and
they
outright
denied
to
certify
the
film.
Prakash
Jha's
film
bagged
several
awards
at
International
Film
Festivals
for
its
bold
content
and
sadly,
it's
not
been
appreciated
in
its
own
country.
The
film
stars
Konkona
Sen,
Ratna
Pathak
Shah,
Aahana
Kumra,
Plabita
Borthakur,
Sushant
Singh,
Vikrant
Massey
and
Shashank
Arora.
Now
the
fate
of
the
film
hangs
with
the
Film
Certification
Appellate
Tribunal
members
and
we
hope
they'll
do
what
is
right!
