This Is What Richa Chadha Has To Say About Feminism!
The Cabaret star Richa Chadha opened up about the subject of feminism and reveald that many women showcase feminism in different ways but the concept & ideology remains the same.
Rich
Chadha
who
is
all
set
to
be
seen
in
her
upcoming
film
Cabaret,
opened
up
on
the
subject
of
feminism
and
said
that
both
men
and
women
should
come
forward
and
"raise
the
bar
and
do
what's
right" in
terms
of
pretecting
women
and
creating
equal
opportunities.
She
said,
"Is
feminism
only
a
woman's
prerogative?
Shouldn't
it
be
the
other
way
round?
Who
propagates
patriarchy
and
causes
women
to
be
oppressed?
It's
not
women,
but
often
men.
So,
why
don't
we
say
that
everybody
should
write
better
characters
and
better
content."
Richa
Chadha
believes
that
women
showcase
feminism
in
different
forms
and
ways,
but
the
whole
ideology
and
concept
remains
the
same.
She
also
said
that
many
celebs
have
been
called
out
for
showing
their
extreme
side
and
said,
"I
know
Beyoncé
Knowles
has
been
called
a
terrorist
because
of
how
she
portrays
sexuality.
Madonna
has
been
called
a
woman
who
sets
back
women.
There
are
people
who
question
why
sexuality
can't
be
expressed
and
things
like
that.
So,
I
don't
feel
an
added
burden
[to
pick
an
ethical
project].
I
won't
do
a
film
which
has
a
titillating
scene
for
the
sake
of
it."
