Meryl Streep dissed President-elect Donald Trump on stage at the Golden Globe Awards 2017 and Trump did not take her comments lightly. He lashed out at the actress by calling her "one of the most over-rated actresses in Hollywood" and also labelled her as a "Hillary flunky who lost big."
The Neerja star Sonam Kapoor retweeted Donald Trump's tweet and called him "a joker" for his language against Meryl Streep. "Okay india isn't in such a bad way... this person is a joker... at least our leader has a semblance of intelligence." Captioned Sonam.
Even before the elections, Hollywood and Bollywood celebrities ganged up against Donald Trump by calling him several names and said that he will never be the President of the United States. Many celebs campaigned vigorously for Hillary Clinton but still she lost the election on November 8, 2016.
Celebrities dissing Trump is nothing new, veteran actor Rishi Kapoor had called him "Donald Duck" before the elections. Trump had been dissed throughout his election campaign cycle by celebrities but nothing has really punctured his persona. In fact, he earned the name 'Teflon Trump' as no criticism really sticks to him and there's another famous saying which goes 'You can't stump the Trump.'
