As surprising as it might sound, CBFC Chief Pahlaj Nihalani has
spoken the golden words cinema lovers wanted to hear since a very
long time. He said with regards to Jolly LLB 2 that "it's just a
film." Wow! What a sudden change of heart for the CBFC Chief.
The over interference of the Censor Board in movies has caused
discomfort among the audiences who spoke to themselves saying 'it's
just a movie, they need to get over it'. The legal tussle for Jolly
LLB 2 is more or less absurd as the audiences can clearly
distinguish the difference between a lawyer's profession and the
masala added to it in the films. Also, Pahlaj came in support of
Akshay Kumar's film by saying,
"If we judge films according to our individual sensitivities,
there will be no cinema left. See, at the end of the day, it's just
a film, not a documentary. Kuch toh banaawati hoga (there will be
some amount of fictionalisation). We cannot be over-sensitive about
every comment or situation in a film."
We assume Pahlaj Nihalani is now a changed man and would treat
every film like "it's just a film". After all, the audiences are
matured enough to know what is right and what is wrong and cherry
picking scenes and dialogues being removed from the film is a huge
turn off for today's audiences.
