Taapsee
Pannu's
heartwrenching
performance
in
last
year's
Pink
may
have
received
heaps
of
praises
from
all
the
corners
but
the
actress
hasn't
been
so
lucky
when
it
comes
to
award
functions.
But
Taapsee
says
that
she
isn't
disillusioned
as
similar
incidents
happen
down
in
the
South
film
industry
too.
Recently
she
spoke
her
heart
out
to
Hindustan
Times
and
had
some
startling
things
to
say...
It's
Not
A
New
Feeling
To
Not
Get
An
Award
Taapsee
was
quoted
as
saying,
"It's
not
a
new
feeling
to
not
get
an
award
so
it's
alright.
These
award
shows
are
beautifully
televised
and
look
fancy.
In
the
South
industry
too,
for
a
lot
of
my
films
that
did
exceptional
business,
awards
were
promised
but
except
for
my
debut
film,
I
didn't
get
any
awards.
It
hurt
me
in
the
beginning
but
later
I
realised
that
the
criteria
were
not
the
same."
You
Have
To Be
In
A Certain
League
To
Get
The
Award
She
further
added,
"I
realised
that
you
have
to
be
in
a
certain
league
to
get
the
award.
It
doesn't
work
the
other
way
round.
I
know
it
will
sound
like
a
case
of
grapes
are
sour
because
I
didn't
get
any
awards,
but
this
is
what
I
feel."
Taapsee
Still
Feels
Like
An
Outsider
In
The
Industry
The
'Naam
Shabana'
actress
who
doesn't
hail
from
a
filmy
family
said,
"There
is
nothing
negative
about
feeling
like
an
outsider.
I
will
have
to
constantly
prove
myself
with
my
films
to
be
considered
an
equal.
One
wrong
step
on
my
part
and
I
know
that
I
would
be
kicked
out.
There
is
a
long
way
to
go
and
I
still
don't
feel
like
I
am
not
in
the
same
position
as
that
of
an
industry
kid.
I've
been
made
to
feel
like
I
am
in
a
queue.
On
the
flipside,
I
know
that
I
can
get
away
with
doing
a
decent
job
as
opposed
to
the
high
level
of
expectations
from
industry
kids.
Both
sides
have
their
own
set
of
advantages
and
disadvantages."
She
Had
Slammed
Award
Functions
In
The
Past
Too
In
one
of
her
earlier
interviews
with
Bollywood
Hungama,
Taapsee
had
said,
"See
what
I've
achieved
and
received.
I'm
always
overwhelmed
in
that
and
I'm
always
happy.
Mera
life
mein
yahi
maan
na
hai
ke
jo
nahi
mila
uske
baare
mein
mat
socho
jo
mila
usme
khush
raho.
Today
when
you
see
award
shows,
they're
beautiful
television
shows
you've
to
sit
and
watch
people
dance
and
get
together.
The
fact
that
only
winners
get
to
attend
the
shows
is
a
big
indication
so
let's
watch
them
as
beautiful
TV
shows."
Ouch,
that
hurts,
doesn't
it?
Do
let
guys
too
agree
with
Taapsee's
observation
about
award
functions
in
recent
times?
