Animal
Parineeti
Chopra
Exit:
Filmmaker
Sandeep
Reddy
Vanga
discussed
Parineeti
Chopra's
departure
from
Animal
recently.
For
those
unfamiliar,
Parineeti
Chopra
was
initially
chosen
for
the
role
of
Geetanjali
in
the
Ranbir
Kapoor
starrer.
However,
Rashmika
Mandanna
eventually
replaced
Parineeti
in
the
film.
While
Sandeep
had
previously
mentioned
that
Parineeti
didn't
quite
fit
the
role
during
the
look
test,
he
now
revealed
that
he
decided
to
part
ways
with
her
a
year
and
a
half
after
signing
her
for
the
film,
and
she
was
understandably
upset
about
it.
In
a
conversation
with
trade
analyst
Komal
Nahta,
the
Animal
director
disclosed
that
although
Parineeti
was
disappointed,
she
understood
the
importance
of
casting
the
right
person
for
the
film.
"Actually,
galati
mera
hi
hai.
I
said,
'Ho
sake
toh
maaf
karo
mujhe.'
I
signed
her
one
and
a
half
years
before
the
shoot
and
for
some
reason,
I
didn't
see
Geetanjali
in
her.
Kuch
kuch
characters
kuch
kuch
logo
ko
set
nahi
hota
hai." Sandeep
Reddy
Vanga
explained.
He
further
mentioned
that
he
has
been
an
admirer
of
her
work
for
a
long
time
and
even
considered
her
for
Kabir
Singh,
starring
Shahid
Kapoor.
"I
always
wanted
to
work
with
her.
I
told
her
and
she
also
knows
that.
I
told
her,
'Sorry,
nothing
is
bigger
than
the
film.
So
I'm
taking
this
decision
and
going
ahead
with
another
artist.'
She
felt
bad
but
she
understood
why
I
was
saying
that," he
added.
In
Animal,
Ranbir
Kapoor
played
the
lead
role,
while
Rashmika
portrayed
his
wife,
Geetanjali.
The
movie
depicted
a
toxic
couple
whose
marriage
was
profoundly
affected
by
the
man's
strong
attachment
to
his
father.
Animal
has
performed
exceptionally
well
at
the
box
office,
grossing
over
Rs
532.77
crores
(at
the
time
of
reporting)
in
India
alone,
making
it
Ranbir
Kapoor's
most
successful
film
in
his
career.
