Celina Jaitly files a suit against Pak critic Umair Sandhu for defaming her
A film critic-journalist from Pakistan, who goes by the name of Umair Sandhu, earlier this year, made a derogatory statement about her, saying, "Celina Jaitley is the only actress in Bollywood who slept with both father (Feroz Khan) and son (Fardeen Khan) many times."
The former actress had called him out and now, on Sunday, shared that she has taken legal action against the man. Giving an update about it, she wrote a lengthy note on Twitter that stated how the National Commission of Women has taken cognizance of her complaint, adding that the Indian ministry has raised the issue with the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi, seeking "an immediate investigation and action."
She shared the status of the case, and wrote, "A few months ago, a self-proclaimed Hindi film critic and journalist from Pakistan named @UmairSandu took to Twitter to make viral untrue horrific claims about me which included bizarre allegations like my relations with both my mentor Feroz Khan and his son Fardeen , in addition he made claims targeting me and my family's safety and security even in Austria."
"My response to his harassment and fake claims from Pakistan went viral and garnered support from millions of Twitterati including Pakistani nationals who were appalled at his behaviour," she added.
Further, she also mentioned in her note how Umair keeps changing his locations online, but he is hiding in Pakistan. This makes it difficult to prosecute him for defamation. While concluding her letter, Celina thanked NCW, especially Chief Rekha Sharma and Kushbu Sundar, for showing their support.

Celina Jaitly on why she took a legal action against Umai Sandhu?
Celina Jaitly made her debut in Bollywood in 2003 with "Janasheen", opposite Fardeen Khan. The film was helmed by the late Feroz Khan. Talking about why she chose to fight it not only for herself but also for Feroz Khan, who is like a mentor to her.
"For me it was not just a fight for the open assault on my character but also an assault on my integrity, my motherhood, my family and above all my God father and my beloved mentor Mr Feroz khan who is no longer in this world here to defend himself," she shared.
She then added, "He was my mentor, my friend my guide and I am eternally grateful for the love, respect and career he gave me. I am an Indian army war hero's daughter and I was going to fight it till my last breath even if it meant going to Pakistan to teach this person a lesson."
