Kalki
Koechlin
Quits
X:
In
a
bold
move,
Bollywood
actor
Kalki
Koechlin
announced
on
Tuesday
that
she
has
deleted
her
X
(previously
Twitter)
account
due
to
the
overwhelming
spread
of
hate
and
misinformation
surrounding
the
Israel-Hamas
conflict.
Kalki
took
to
Instagram
to
share
a
screenshot
of
her
deactivated
account,
and
explained
the
reasons
behind
her
decision.
Expressing
her
frustration,
Kalki
stated,
"Had
to
do
this
today.
The
hate
and
disinformation,
the
doom
scrolling,
the
helplessness.
But
what
really
crossed
the
line
for
me,
what
really
made
me
draw
a
boundary
was
the
denial
or
the
justification
of
Palestinian
children
murdered
in
the
thousands
or
the
denial
or
glorification
of
Israeli
women
being
raped,
tortured
and
murdered,
I
have
had
enough."
She
further
mentioned
the
sources
that
helped
her
gain
more
perspective
on
the
complex
situation
and
added,
"Some
places
that
have
helped
me
get
more
perspective.
@btselem
@standing.together.english
@haaretz

it's
not
free)

The
actor's
decision
sparked
reactions
from
social
media
users,
with
many
lauding
her
for
taking
a
stand
on
the
Palestine-Israel
issue.
A
user
wrote,
"I
love
u
Kalki....
There
are
only
some
people
in
India,
who
are
taking
stand
for
Philistine
and
against
War." Another
user
wrote,
"Oh
man.
Absolutely.
There's
no
nuance
anymore!
No
sense
of
what's
just.
It's
all
about
polarisation.
This
or
that.
Choose
a
side
and
hate
on
the
other.
Also,
had
gotten
off
Twitter
may
be
almost
two
years
ago.
Best
cleanse
ever!"
"Thank
you
for
being
one
of
the
only
few
Bollywood
celebrities
for
speaking
out
for
the
cause
of
Palestine.
The
deafening
silence
from
the
rest
who
have
massive
influence
and
reach
is
sickening,"
read
a
comment
from
a
third
user.
Several
others
criticized
her
stance.
A
user
wrote,
"Checked
your
other
sources
and
wow
its
crazy
that
you
dont
get
your
info
from
a
single
Palestinian
source
and
everything
you've
mentioned
is
Israeli-owned/backed." Another
user
wrote,
"Get
your
facts
rights,
there
were
no
women
raped.
Can't
believe
people
don't
see
the
actual
genocide
that
is
happening
in
broad
daylight
and
still
supporting
the
oppressors."
Meanwhile,
on
the
professional
front,
Kalki
Koechlin
was
last
seen
in
the
film
Goldfish
alongside
Deepti
Naval.
The
film,
which
marked
Kalki's
return
to
theaters
after
Gully
Boy,
focused
on
her
character's
struggles
as
her
mother,
played
by
Deepti,
coped
with
dementia.
Her
upcoing
projects
include,
R
Arvind's,
Emma
And
Angel.
