Netizens thought she had directed it toward Ranbir's ex-girlfriend, Katrina Kaif who he dated for almost seven years. Amid this, a cryptic message on 'respect' was shared by Suzanne Turquotte, Katrina Kaif's mother on her Instagram.

Following the reactions, that her post garnered on social media, Katrina Kaif's mother has now issued a clarification that the post was aimed towards anyone in particular. In the post, she edited that caption, which now reads, "I was looking through old photos on my phone and came across this. I rather liked it so I posted it. But it is in no way aimed at anyone or at any comments that may have been said on social media."
