filmmaker
behind

such

Parineeta,
Laga
Chunari
Mein
Daag,
Mardaani,

Helicopter
Eela,
has
passed
away
at
the
age
of
67.
He
breathed
his
last
at
3:30
am
on
March
24.
PRADEEP
SARKAR
DEATH
REASON
According
to
the
ongoing
reports,
the
director
was
on
dialysis.
He
was
rushed
to
hospital
at
around
3
am
as
his
potassium
levels
had
dropped
significantly.
He
subsequently
passed
away
at
the
hospital.
The
funeral
service
for
Sarkar
is
scheduled
to
be
held
at
a
crematorium
in
Santacruz,
Mumbai,
at
4
pm
today.
His
film
industry
colleagues
have
been
notified
of
his
untimely
demise,
and
they
woke
up
to
a
shocking
morning,
stunned
by
the
news.
Taking
to
social
media,
director
Hansan
Mehta
confirmed
the
sad
news
and
mourned
Pradeep
Sarkar's
demise.
Posting
his
picture,
Mehta
wrote,
"Pradeep
Sarkar.
Dada.
RIP."
Other
well-known
celebrities
including
Ajay
Devgn,
Manoj
Bajpayee,
and
Neetu
Chandra
among
others
too
are
in
shock
and
shared
their
condolences
on
social
media.
Pradeep
Sarkar's
career
began
at
Vinod
Chopra
Productions,
the
production
company
owned
by
director
and
producer
Vidhu
Vinod
Chopra.
After
spending
17
years
as
a
Creative
Director
-
Art
in
mainstream
advertising,
he
ventured
into
the
world
of
ad-film
making,
where
he
is
considered
one
of
the
most
prolific
and
sought-after
directors.
In
the
realm
of
feature
films,
Pradeep's
directorial
debut
was
with
the
critically
acclaimed
Parineeta,
which
won
him
the
prestigious
National
Film
Award
for
Best
Debut
Film
of
a
Director.
He
has
also
been
honored
with
several
other
awards,
including
the
Abby
Award,
Rapa
Award,
and
another
National
Film
Award.
His
last
film,
Helicopter
Eela
starred
Kajol
and
was
produced
by
Ajay
Devgn
Films.
It
was
released
in
October
2018.
He

hemled
a
