In
2008,
Rock
On
had
hit
the
big
screens.
The
movie
revolved
around
a
rock
band
named
Magik,
and
it
starred
Farhan
Akhtar,
Prachi
Desai,
Arjun
Rampal,
Luke
Kenny,
and
Purab
Kohli.
The
film
was
a
hit
at
the
box
office
and
collected
Rs.
36.14
crore.
Rock
On
also
won
multiple
awards,
including
two
National
Awards,
Best
Feature
Film
in
Hindi
and
Best
Supporting
Actor
(Arjun
Rampal).
After
12
years
of
Rock
On,
in
2016,
the
makers
came
up
with
a
sequel
to
the
film
titled
Rock
On
2.
It
starred
Farhan,
Arjun,
Prachi,
and
Purab
reprised
their
roles
in
the
sequel,
and
Shraddha
Kapoor
joined
the
cast.
While
the
first
part
was
directed
by
Abhishek
Kapoor,
Rock
On
2
was
directed
Shujaat
Saudagar.
The
sequel
failed
to
impress
the
audiences
and
it
was
a
flop
at
the
box
office
with
a
collection
of
Rs.
10.47
crore.
Now,
the
season
of
sequels
is
going
on
in
Bollywood.
This
year
as
well
as
next
year
many
sequels
are
lined
up
for
a
release.
Filmibeat
recently
interacted
with
Shujaat
Saudagar
and
spoke
to
him
about
the
Rock
On
franchise.
When
asked
if
they
are
planning
a
Rock
On
3,
the
filmmaker
said,
"I
really
don't
think
so.
At
the
end
of
the
day,
we
need
to
have
a
story
to
tell,
a
story
that
we
believe
and
it
needs
to
make
complete
sense
in
terms
of
believability."
"Right
now,
it
hasn't
even
crossed
our
minds
and
we
are
not
focusing
on
Rock
On.
The
first
part
had
a
great
run,
it
did
fantastically
well.
It
had
great
music
and
gave
life
to
so
many
actors
and
Gattu
(Abhishek
Kapoor)
also
as
a
director.
So,
I
think
it
had
its
life
and
you
never
know
what
happens
in
the
future," he
added.
Would
you
like
to
see
a
Rock
On
3?
