Sunny
Deol
At
IFFI
Goa:
In
an
unexpected
and
emotional
turn
of
events
at
the
International
Film
Festival
of
India
(IFFI)
in
Goa,
Bollywood
actor
Sunny
Deol
was
in
tears
during
a
masterclass
session
with
renowned
directors
Anil
Sharma,
Rajkumar
Santoshi,
and
Rahul
Rawail.
The
incident
took
place
during
the
panel
discussion,
when
director
Rajkumar
Santoshi,
who
had
previously
worked
with
Sunny
Deol
in
iconic
films
such
as
Ghayal
and
Damini,
expressed
his
sentiments
about
the
industry's
treatment
of
the
actor's
talent.
Santoshi
said
that
the
Hindi
film
industry
had
not
been
fair
to
Sunny
and
did
not
give
him
the
recognition
he
deserved.
The
heartfelt
statement
struck
a
chord
with
Sunny,
who
was
seen
wiping
away
tears
and
struggling
to
compose
himself.
When
Rahul
Rawail
asked
Sunny
Deol
about
his
Bollywood
journey,
the
actor
opened
up
about
his
emotional
nature,
saying,
"I
have
been
really
very
lucky.
I
just
get
too
emotional,
that's
my
problem."
As
quoted
by
Indian
Express,
the
actor
added,
"I
was
very
fortunate.
I
started
with
Rahul.
He
gave
me
three
beautiful
films.
Some
worked,
some
didn't.
But
till
today,
people
remember
those
films.
I
am
standing
here
because
of
my
films.
After
Gadar,
which
was
a
massive
hit,
my
struggle
period
had
started
because
subjects
or
scripts
were
not
offered
to
me
and
things
were
not
happening.
Even
though
I
did
some
films
in
between,
there
was
a
gap
of
20
years.
But
I
did
not
give
up.
I
was
always
moving
forward.
I
joined
films
because
I
wanted
to
become
an
actor,
not
a
star.
I
had
seen
the
films
of
my
father
and
I
too
wanted
to
do
films
of
that
variety."
Acknowledging
Sunny's
cinematic
journey,
Rajkumar
Santoshi
added,
"I
believe
that
the
industry
has
not
done
justice
to
Sunny's
talent.
But
God
has
done
justice." This
remark
left
Sunny
Deol
visibly
moved,
and
left
him
in
tears.
Meanwhile,
Sunny
Deol
recently
made
a
phenomenal
comeback
with
Gadar
2.
On
the
professional
front,
he
is
set
to
reunite
with
Rajkumar
Santoshi
after
27
years
in
the
upcoming
film,
Lahore
1947,
produced
by
Aamir
Khan.
